Kelly's Bio:
I am originally
from Madison, WI. A true Badger and Green Bay Packer fan! The love for good
cheese, great beer and brats runs thru my veins. I attended the University of
Wisconsin-Oshkosh and received a Biology and Environmental Studies degree.
In 2002, during
the summer of my senior year of college, I applied for an internship on Maui
doing observational data research on the local wild whale and dolphin
populations in and around the islands. When I first stepped off the plane, it
was love at first sight. Everything else I did those two weeks was just an added
bonus full of amazing experiences. I knew then and there that I would someday
move to Maui.
When I graduated
college in 2003, I kept in contact with some of the people I met thru the
internship and inquired about a job working on their snorkel tour boats. After
six months, I was hired! So without any hesitation, I packed up my one bag and
moved to Maui on February 8, 2004.
My main job for
the last 9 years has been working on snorkel tour boats, taking thousands of
people snorkeling and diving in the waters of Molokini Crater and off the shores
of Maui. To say it has been the best job of my life is an understatement. Having
up close and personal encounters with all sorts of marine life creatures, my
'office' is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and meeting and
working with people from all over...including my husband.
In the fall of
2011, I was contemplating what I would do for work if I ever stopped working on
the boats. My husband suggested I get my real estate license. Having no
experience or background in real estate, I was slightly skeptical. But I went
ahead and registered for Carol Ball's Pre-Licensing Class during February 2012
at the Maui college. It was by far the toughest two weeks I've endured since
cramming for college finals. Despite all the stress, I passed her class and the
PSI national and state exam. A huge personal victory! Shortly after, I was hired
on with Carol Ball & Associates. If there is one thing that I will carry with me
from Carol's class, and talking to her personally, is when she told me that this
will forever change my life. It has. And I believe it will continue to do so.
